I really love this closeup. Because it's so close, and focused on the eye, the fur texture blurs a bit, giving the image a sort of painterly look.
I am the human to 5 felines.
This image reminds me of a couple of years ago after I had cataract surgery and discovered how much detail I had been missing: I looked into the eyes of one of our cats (who sadly crossed the Rainbow Bridge this past January) and realized that there were all these subtle variations within the green of his eye, which I had not really noticed.

Just don't give up...keep on trying . I can't tell you how many shots I have taken of my cats eye before I finally got this one...hundreds, I'm sure!
